My Horrible Saturday
Well, yesterday just couldn't have gotten much worse!
The day didn't start out badly....it was an average day
until one of my co-workers came by the house to pick
up the money I owed for my Avonorder. Well, I dug &
dug in my purse, but couldn't find the envelope from the
bank with myanywhere(Joe had gone to the bank
Friday & cashed my paycheck for me).I then proceeded
to tear the houseapart looking, and even the car
, but no
money was to be found! So, thinking it would turn up
somewhere, I went ahead & paid her out of Joe's wallet
(he was asleep) and then after she left, continued to
frantically search for my missing $165.00 everywhere.
Luckily, I had taken one hundred dollars out the night
before to give Joe,so at least I wasn't missing
TWO hundred-sixty-five, but still, this was my whole
paycheck for 2 weeks, and it was just *POOF*!
I don't know what upset me more....knowing my money
was gone, or anticipating Joe's reaction when he awoke
and I'd have to tell him...I mean, I don't want to paint the
wrong picture of him-he's not a mean man, but he is a MAN,
and we all know how men are when it comes to money!
Well, as best as I can figure, the money disappeared the
night before, when I went to our fav Chinese restaurant
to pick up some take-out.I know I had it when I went in,
and then didn't realize it was gone until the next day, so
I called Ms. Kittyin the hopes that I had left the bank
envelope full of cash(no ID in it, BTW) on the front desk
when I paid, and that perhaps she'd found it. No such luck.
I tell you, I cried & sobbeduntil I almost threw up....I think
I freaked the kids out. Leah kept bringing me tissue,
and Camryn said "You lost your dollar??"
Well, fast-forward to 3pm.......Leah's soccerpractise. She'd
complained a little bit that her ear itched, but I didn't think
much about it. Halfway thru practise, she came to the sidelines
begging to go home.......she'd been holding her ear all thru
soccer drills. She said it hurt really bad,and her face was red.
So, we packed up & left, and sent Joe to my parent's for some
medicated ear drops my dad offered. Leah was frantic the whole
time at home, asking "Where's Daddy?!?" and "Can't you make
him get here faster?!?!" Warm compresses weren't doing any
good, she was inconsolable. Finally, he got home & we medicated
her, and gave her some chewable Tylenol, and after a bit, she
calmed down.
I never did find my money, and guess I never will. *SOBS*
That's a lot of dough to lose, especially since it was to be
grocery money, gas money, and pocket money for the next
2 weeks. Fortunately for me, my parentsare understanding,
generous, and loving, and they "loaned" me the $160, though
I told them I didn't know how, when or if I'd be able to repay
them. *sigh* So basically, it's ok now, but the whole thing
still sucks. And Leah hasn't fussed with her ear (YET) this
morning, but she coughed all nite last night, so I imagine
a trip to the doctor tomorrow is in store for her.
Needless to say, I was in no mood to be online yesterday,
so I'm sure I've got a ton of emails to reply to, and friends
who're wondering where in the world I've been, so gonna
end this mini-drama for now.....will update you if the $$$
should miraculously appear! Yeah, right!
Until the next time........hugs
