My Happenings

Howdy y'all! Sorry I've been scarce lately...no real excuse, just haven't had the desire or the time to blog much anymore...and my life's rather boring too! *LOL* I did write my bestest buddy Wendi an email the other day, and decided to copy/paste/modify my email to her here so you could see what's happening in my lil' corner of the world ;)

Don't get me started on school....the long story short is that Leah's grades suck......bad.....and the other day I got a call from a teacher at her school that they want to move her to a smaller class, so she can have more one-on-one time where she needs extra help (her current class is 1 teacher, 27 students...the new one will be no more than 14 students). They assured me it's not "special ed" and that they will follow the very same lesson plans and the only thing different
will be with less students, she can have more personal attention. I think it's a great thing to help her with her grades, but of course she is devestated, she said "but mom, I'm just now starting to make friends in my class...and I don't like Ms. Squires (that will be her new teacher)" so I feel badly for her now...I just hope there's at least one kid in there she knows/likes. Obviously ALOT of 4th graders are having a hard time this year, because the teacher that contacted me said this is a new program they're starting to help those that need extra help. It's been very frustrating trying to help Leah with homework lately, because it never fails that Joe doesn't make her do it before I get home (5pm) --his excuse is he doesn't understand the math & can't help her--so I come home tired and ready to rest a bit, in need of cooking dinner, yet wind up spending an hour with Leah's homework, and when she gets frustrated by it, she starts crying...and I'm not helping matters with my temper, but dangit, when I've explained something over and over and she still doesn't get it, I do tend to yell a bit (wish I weren't a yeller, but it's a hard habit to break *blush*)

Camryn is doing good, and has a best friend named Mariah. She is such a grump every morning when I try to get her up and ready for school....just like her daddy! Cam's teachers all love her, and she is turning out to be quite the smart one....and creative too...you should see some of her drawings! =)

Leah's made buddies with the girl across the street from us, have I told ya yet? Her name is also Leah ;) and she'll be 8 in December. They have an inground pool, and have been having a ball playing together. She has a little brother named Jake who's 3 or 4, but Camryn doesn't play much with him *LOL*

Cam decided to drop out of soccer....sheesh, she never played a single game this fall, we wasted $45 bucks! but she was stubborn that she DID NOT WANNA *rolls eyes* so what can ya do? Leah's still playing, and is on a really talented team this year!

Well,*sigh*, no more house hunting...but we are looking into some renovations for this house! =) Will have to let you know how that goes.
